Six Sigma Black Belt Training and Certification Program

Our Six Sigma Black Belt training and certification program offers a cost-effective method to train and certify your staff in Six Sigma techniques. The program consists of 12 days of intensive classroom training, a visit to your company for assistance in project selection, and another visit to assist with your project. The training program is followed by a half-day review and administration of the Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate Test.

Black Belt Certification

A Black Belt Training Certificate is granted to those participants that attend all 12 days of training, and pass both the Green Belt Exam and the Black Belt exam. The Green Belt exam is administered on Day 6 and participants must pass the exam to continue on to the black belt training. Participants who do not pass the green belt exam may repeat the training and exam at no cost at a later date. Black Belt Certification is granted to attendees who have received the Black Belt Training Certificate and successfully completed a Black Belt project.

Black Belts:

  • Full-time (or Part-time) Project Team leaders
  • Responsible for implementing process improvement projects.
  • Skilled in the use of the Six Sigma methodology and tools.
  • Black Belts also mentor Green Belts.

Certificate/Certification

Black Belt Certification from Purdue TAP is awarded to participants who complete all 11 days of training, pass the Black Belt Certification Test, and submit evidence of a completed successful Six Sigma project within 120 days of the test date. Training is available onsite at your company or through a public workshop.

Days of Training: 12 (Green Belt exam on day 6 and Black Belt exam on day 12)

Purdue MEP's Six Sigma Black Belts have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the DMAIC model in accordance with Six Sigma principles. A Black Belt will become a project team leader guiding his or her team members to a goal of eliminating as many defects as possible.
