White Belt

A Six Sigma White Belt provides an understanding and introduction to the Lean principles and the Six Sigma methodology which covers the basics of:

  • Understanding customer's needs, wants and perceptions (Define Phase)
  • Understanding how to define a project (Define Phase)
  • Understanding how to set up a measurement system and evaluate current systems (Measure Phase)
  • Understanding how to measure current performance (Measure Phase)
  • Understanding how to identify root causes (Analyze Phase)
  • Understanding how to identify solutions and make improvements (Improve Phase)
  • Understanding how to sustain improvements (Control Phase)
  • Helps you play a participatory role in Lean Six Sigma projects


A Six Sigma White Belt certificate of completion will be issued from Purdue University's – Technical Assistance Program upon successful completion.
